Footpaths and Bridleways

We have a number of footpaths and bridleways, as well as the 70 mile long-distance Wayfarers Walk, which leads from Combe Gibbet near Hungerford to Emsworth Harbour. From our section of Wayfarers Walk there are stunning views over Highclere Castle, Newbury and right across towards the Ridgeway in Oxfordshire.

The Hampshire Countryside Service manages around 3,000 miles of public footpaths, bridleways and unsurfaced roads, which are maintained locally by teams who work with landowners to keep vegetation under control and ensure that paths are kept clear.

The legal record of Rights of Way is kept under constant review by the map team in Winchester.
