ADHS Spring Flower show - Sunday 3rd April 2.30pm

Come and Enjoy the Ashmansworth and District Horticultural Society Spring Flower Show!

Everyone is welcome! Delicious Refreshments served in the Village Hall surrounded by a beautiful display of Spring Flowers from our gardens.

Feel free to pop in and enjoy the display….

Or enter some classes with spring flowers from your garden - children’s classes too! Entering classes and visiting the show is free.

Programme (classes listed on reverse)

Entries: Bring your entries to the hall between 11 & 12 am on Sunday 3rd April or deliver them to Ginny Bond at the Old Vicarage in advance

2.30 p.m. Show opens. Delicious Teas available

3.00 p.m. Presentation of Prizes

Competition Classes

20. Narcissi: vase of 3, cut, trumpet or cup (single variety)

21. Narcissi: vase of 3, cut, double (single variety)

22. Narcissi: vase of 3, cut, miniature (single variety)

23. Narcissi: vase of 3 cut, multi-headed (single variety)

24. Tulips: vase of 3, cut (single variety)

25. Tulips: vase of 3, cut (mixed variety)

26. Flowering bulbs: vase of any cut flowering bulbs (single variety)

27. Flowering bulbs: vase of any cut flowering bulbs (mixed variety)

28. Primulas/Polyanthus: 3 stems in small container (single or mixed variety)

29. Pansies: 5 stems in a container

30. Wallflowers: 3 stems

31. Hellebores: 5 blooms displayed face-up in water or sand (single colour)

32. Hellebores: 5 blooms displayed face-up in water or sand (mixed colour)

33. Flowering shrubs: vase of 3 stems (single variety, max 60cm diameter)

34. Flowering shrubs: vase of 3 stems (mixed variety, max 60cm diameter)

35. Flowering bulbs: pot or bowl

36. Any house plant

37. Arrangement of Spring flowers with any foliage (max 60cm diameter)

38. Small arrangement of Spring Flowers with any foliage (max 22cm diameter)

Children’s Classes (Age up to 16) - Children may also enter the other competition classes

22. A display

Judging is undertaken by professional gardeners on the ADHS Committee. The Society’s show rules apply. Entry is free. Certificates are awarded to prize winners. The “Chairman’s Cup” is awarded to the individual resident gaining the most points in competition classes. A book token is awarded to the winning non-resident and the winner of the children’s classes.
